Kent State University Museum’s exhibit, Undress: Shaping Fashion and Private Life, about how undergarments shaped fashion and life from 1760 to 2012, is on display until September, 2013. Joanna Connors calls it “a telling display of women’s body battles through the ages.”  Along with Queen Victoria’s underthings, the exhibit includes pieces of lingerie from the huge 700-piece collection that the Great Kate’s estate donated to the Kent State Museum.

The museum’s first exhibit from the collection, Katharine Hepburn: Dressed for Stage and Screen, is on loan to the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in the Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery at Lincoln Center through January 12, 2013. (Due to the horrible results of Hurricane Sandy you may not be able to access even the information page right now.) A companion book, Katharine Hepburn: Rebel Chic, is also available.
