One of my local radio stations reported, briefly and with the requisite wink-wink-nudge-nudge attitude, that a local hardware store has seen a huge increase in both cotton and nylon rope sales — which they directly attribute to the book. And it’s not a fake bit of news to titillate, either; Forbes noted it too.
Now Media Bistro reports that the series of saucy novels has a licensing agent:
Among the diverse categories being discussed by Caroline Mickler Ltd for licensing are lingerie/sleepwear, apparel, fragrances, beauty products, bedding, home furnishings, stationery, jewelry and adult products.
The question is, will folks buy it? Without seeing the lingerie, I certainly can’t say… But it is intriguing. And overall, this is a rare ray of sex-positive light in our currently cloudy culture.
