At first glance, the nightgown has that 1940s look in both style, print and color…

But the sheer chiffon floral print peignoir has that 1960s babydoll look — even if it is long and not short.

And the button collar? That’s a very 1950s style which was almost extinct by the 1970s…

Surprise, this set is from the 1970s! The floral print makes enough sense for the time period, but the combination of details from other decades sure fascinates me. I’m sure that at the time, this was considered a more “matronly” lingerie set for moms and grandmothers — but to me, it’s like the best bits of vintage lingerie from years gone by…
