Vintage Camp Anatomical Supports store display mannequin from the early 1940s, complete with her “anatomical supports” i.e. bra and corset girdle.
From S.H. Camp & Company, Jackson, Michigan, she is made of resin and is 24″ tall. The detail work on the garments are amazing – down to the last lace, grommet, hook, and strap. Camp made undergarments for posture improvement, post-surgical support, and orthopedic aid, all with a decidedly feminine touch. During WWII, Camp’s advertising campaign centered around providing the scientific means with which to help women work longer and with greater ease in war production.
