The Shape Me Bra is a longline bustier bra — the sort of bra every girl should have in her closet, not just for special occasion dressing, or even for the every day fun (as well as slimming and boosting!), or even for a modern foundation garment to give you more of a vintage silhouette, but for the fun of having your partner react to it.
And I’m not kidding.
I tried three times to have my husband take photos of me in this bra, but each and every time, he was, ummm, err, preoccupied — and we ended up in bed. (OK, the first time, it was on the couch… but the euphemism still works.) So you have my apologies (not hubby’s — he’s smuggly satisfied with the results of repeated attempts to get him to take photos) for the poor photos (near the end of the review) that my friend and neighbor, Karen, and I did our best to take.
Aside from pretty details such as loads of ultra-sheer lace (lightly lined, for appropriate coverage) and a metallic stud on non-stretch center (which, as I type this, my husband is saying he never noticed — would I put it back on so he can see it? *sigh*), the Shape Me Bra works.
* firm but flexible boning
* seamed, underwire cups for support (and with my cup size, I sure put that to the test!)
And it’s all adjustable due to the two rows of 13 hook & eye closures on the back.
(Note: You will require assistance getting “buckled-up”. This is not a bustier you can get into alone. And here I must publicly apologize to Karen for coming over so many times to get me ready for hubby & his camera, only to have to take the photos herself.)
The bottom of the Shape Me Bra sits at your hip line, which means you have all that fabulous boning supporting and shaping you — comfortably, taking in your waist, stomach and any “muffin top” you might have.
And the Shape Me Bra also includes removable garter straps, which means you won’t need to worry about adding a garter belt.
It’s hyper feminine and highly functional.
The only word of caution I have is regarding cup size. I got the 38 F (because in true bustiers I tend to take a 38 E, and the Shape Me Bra jumps from DD to F), and the cups were still a bit small. As you can sort of see in this photo, the center of the bra does not lay flat on my chest as it should.
It’s not from the weight, for the cups are well made and very supportive; it’s because the cup size should be increased. And the bra cannot be pulled any lower on my hips or the girls won’t be in the cups at all (I *do* have a very long torso). Sadly, they don’t make a cup size larger than F. (Not yet, but I hope!)
Hubby didn’t mind one bit that my cups runneth over, but the bulge would be a bit problematic beneath some outfits.
Hell, who am I kidding? I love it — and hubby’s reaction to it — as it is!
The Shape Me Bra comes in very practical shades of black, white, and champagne (off white). It’s currently selling for only $79.00 — with free shipping in the continental US too. So while it feels like a luxury item, it’s quite economical for lingerie which doubles as day wear & play wear.
