What Katie Did will be previewing their new collection at London Fashion Week this February 14th at the Burlesque Boudoir, The Metropolitan Hotel, Old Park Lane. While I cannot attend (and I’m green with envy of those who can), Katie sent me the details.
The new collection, called SS08, will have three new ranges:
Pigalle, a range of steel boned corsets featuring black lace overlaying satin is inspired by Paris nightlife in the 1930s. Pigalle was launched in red with black for AW07 and the range is being expanded to include gold with black lace and purple with black lace for Spring 2008.
Striptease looks back to burlesque in the 1950s and comprises a bralette with several styles of co-ordinating knickers including Gypsy (with tie sides, shown below), Zorita (with a frilled back), and Kitten (with bow backed). The Striptease range is available in black, purple and rose.
The third is Harlow — and it’s my favorite! A classic 1940s style peach lingerie blending satin, organza and powermesh, this range includes 2 styles of bra, 4 styles of knickers and 2 styles of suspender belts – in fact, something for just about everybody!
Harlow’s not due to be launched until late March 2008, but I was so smitten I had to ask Katie for more… And she gave us some sneak-peak photos!
Katie also dished some Harlow details, saying, “As it was rare to have matching lingerie sets in the 1940s and 1950s we’ve dyed satin, organza and powermesh the same colour of peach so that the the range can be mixed to suit the wearer and doesn’t look too ‘matchy matchy’.”
The prices for the Harlow range start at £12 (£24) for the sheer thong and go up to £32.50 ($65) for the sheer underwired bra. Lovely prices, really — you’d be hard-pressed to find vintage at such prices!
(And as it’s new and not quite so fragile, you’ll feel better about his hard-presses *wink*)
Always have, and likely always will, love What Katie Did. Who can resist when the seduction continues like this?
