Men in Uniform Bearing Gifts

This spectacular 1940’s French silk bra and tap pants set is from Dorothea’s Closet and has a story of its own…

acquired by a US serviceman in France during WWII, then gifted to his loving wife up on his return home. Our demure young WWII bride refused to wear it, proclaiming it “too racy”! Whether true or not, its easily imagined as a scenario for many a young American gal upon seeing French lingerie for the first time.

I never would have (nor would I now) turn down such a lovely lingerie set!

(Now if Uniformsmoker would only send me something… He would come bearing gifts and I baring gifts. *wink*)
