Teen Lingerie Market?

According to Raw Story, the Times was going to run an article on retailers trying to cash in on the teen market with lingerie sales. However, the “earlier version of this story focused on retailers reaching out to the teen market, however the final Times article didn’t reflect that the advance version of the story received before publication.”

Hmmm, I wonder what the Times was thinking?

Combining the rush for disposable teen income with our US obsession to forcing girls to grow up and be sexy seems logical. It’s a natural business response to an unnatural cultural phenom. But for the Times to down play the angle seems odd.
