Police Say: "For All Our Sakes, Please Make Sure You’re Wearing Nice Pants and That You’ve Recently Had a Wax"

In Suffolk, England, the police have created a new magazine calle Safe!, which promotes three key messages of the ‘Nightsafe’ scheme:

* don’t over do it
* friends stick together
* get home safe

What’s unique is that the publication is Tongue-in-cheek style women’s magazine which includes horoscopes, beauty tips and an agony page. And it’s a gem!

Safe! Magazine The magazine contains a picture of a girl in a miniskirt with the caption: “If you’ve got it, don’t flaunt it” and the warning that too much booze can leave women looking like “wrinkly old prunes”.

There is also a “You Are What You Drink” section which explores the calorie content of alcohol.

But this is my favorite:

“If you fall over or pass out, remember your skirt or dress may ride up. You could show off more than you intended — for all our sakes, please make sure you’re wearing nice pants and that you’ve recently had a wax”.

Chief Superintendent David McDonnell told Reuters, “We need to raise their awareness of potential problems. They become more vulnerable whilst under the influence of alcohol.”

DCI Pepper added: “It is mainly aimed at females at the moment but we do plan later in the year, or next year, to do one aimed at young men.”
