Lingerie News

Japan says “The lingerie business has not been at its peak in since 2004 when sales dropped rapidly.” Huh.

I don’t know about the finacial aspects of the lingerie business, but I know I’ve not slowed down my purchases of lingerie since 2004… But then, I don’t shop in Japan either.

Anywho, it seems Bloomingdale’s is all set to invest more in lingerie. It’s revamping its intimates section, and chief executive officer Michael Gould goes a bit ga-ga when he says “I believe this is one of the most important moments in Bloomingdale’s history.”

Speaking of Bloomie’s…

Has anyone here seen Menopause The Musical? Apparently the story centers around four women (an aging soap star, an Iowa housewife, a still-in-the 60’s hippie Earth Mother, and an executive complete with Power Suit) who meet in the lingerie department at Bloomingdale’s Department Store in New York City while each are looking for a black lace bra.

The four soon find they have more in common than their desire for underthings — things like their desire for chocolate, complaints about their sex lives, problems with hot flashes, and, as the title indicates, other issues of “The Change”.

Seems this musical started in 2001, but I’ve only just heard about it. I hope it comes to my neck of the woods soon.
